What to Expect

• Location: Situated in eastern Santo Domingo, near Mirador del Este Park.
• Natural Formation: A limestone cave system formed thousands of years ago due to cavern collapses, creating breathtaking underground lagoons.
• The Three Main Lagoons:
  1. Lago Azufre (Sulfur Lake) – Despite its name, the water is pure and clear.
  2. La Nevera (The Fridge) – This lagoon remains cold due to the lack of direct sunlight.
  3. El Lago de las Damas (The Ladies’ Lake) – Historically used as a bathing area.
• The Fourth Lagoon: “Los Zaramagullones,” only accessible by a manual raft ride.

Tips for Visitors

• Wear comfortable shoes, as there are steep stairs to access the caves.
• Swimming is not allowed in the lagoons.
• Ideal for a 1-2 hour visit.
• Best visited in the morning or late afternoon to avoid midday heat.
